It has now been a week and a day since the release of Magna Carta Holy Grail. For those of you who don't know, MCHG is a music album released by iconic hip-hop artist and entrepreneur Sean Corey Carter aka Jay-z. This album set precedent thanks to its digital sales. Promotion, advertising and marketing were in full effect for the release. Jay-z and his team took marketing for the album to a more digital level.

Samsung started off as a trade company in 1938. Today it offers electronic products, advertising and much more. Jay-z and his team capitalized off of the exposure that Samsung was able to offer. It was great time to work with Samsung because of the Apple and Samsung beef that has been occuring between the last year. Everyone wants to be the best and Samsung inked a deal with "the best rapper alive" in his niche.

Magna Carta... Holy Grail is the twelfth studio album by American rapper Jay-Z. The album was released on July 4, 2013 via digital download by the Jay-Z Magna Carta app for free, and was released on July 8, 2013 for retail sale, by Roc-A-Fellaand Roc Nation while being distributed by Universal. The album was promoted via various commercials presented bySamsung and was not preceded by any retail singles. The album features guest appearances by Rick Ross, Nas, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce Knowles, and Frank Ocean among others. Production on the album was primarily handled byTimbaland and Jerome "J-Roc" Harmon, while also featuring production by Boi-1da, Mike Will Made It, Hit-Boy, Mike Dean,No ID, The-Dream, Swizz Beatz, and Pharrell Williams among others.

It was important that Samsung had 3 days exclusively that the album would be available to the public through the google play store. Samsung bought one million albums from Jay-z at an estimated five dollars each. Potentially jigga man earned five million dollars by using the Samsung platform. These were the sales before the album officially released four days later to other platforms such as Itunes and Amazon.
